I am experiencing many more hard system freezes since this build as well. I have posted here and written to CCP without serious response (GM Bambi wrote back to tell me to look at the forums! Thanks CCP, tell me to look for answers in the place you never give them).
I didn't think many others were experiencing these freezes and, although I am not glad for your issues, they might indicate that the problem is not exclusively on my side.
I am using a wireless connection for my PS3 but have had the same setup since I started dust in may.
I completely agree: CCP would help play testers ALOT if they would just post anything about issues they are tracking or problems players are struggling with. No Cdr Wang, those glossed over weekly posts you make do not constitute good feedback.
There are not that many beta testers on dust as we all recognize. Wtf is CCP going to do about the poor quality of player support and feedback when they go open beta?
This has been the longest beta I have ever participated in. And as much as I love dust and CCP in general, I will seriously consider the wisdom of going through this kind of sustained frustration and poor support for any future title.
I am, of course, one tiny singular voice ( granted a whiny and bithcy voice...) that has decried the nature of developer feedback since early summer but this continues to be a difficult way to contibute to a new game.
Thanks for posting your ongoing issues Mavado. |

I've had no hard resets as such, though I needed to reset once due to having no load out fittings at all appear on spawn screen, having previously had fittings loading circle loop just before entry to a match.
So all in all, this has been the stability patch for me. Mav :-(
How new is your ps3 sytonis? |

CCP, via [email protected], suggested that I try deleting/reinstalling all dust software to resolve the persistent hard freezes I am still struggling with.
Like Mavado and others, I spent 3.5 hours doing so. First game back - hard frozen system. Note: all of my hard freeze system lookups during Chromosone have happened during matches. Never in MQ.
CCP suggests that I now get a hard wide Ethernet cable strung through my home to my PS3. Will I? I guess I will at some point since it is clearly not a big enough issue for the majority of players that CCP would deem it necessary to RESPOND to on going problems with any kind of information.
Will Ethernet cabling resolve the matter? I don't know. I would say probably not. Why? Because nothing else has worked and no one with definitive data is talking (CCP).
After the cable attempt maybe I will look closer at the SSD discussion. Maybe after I purchase and try that I will resolve to buy a new slim ps3. And when that doesn't work I will relocate my home closer to Shanghai.
Of course after that doesnt fix the problem that some of us continue to struggle with due to poor customer support and lack of communication...yes, after that maybe CCP will decide it was always some part of thier non-optimized code and a patch will fix the freezes.
Of course, that will be 2 years from now and DUST open beta will be right around the corner, soon.
CCP, just try communicating. Tell us what you THINK might be happening. Tell us you even hear or care or are considering the issue that some number of players are experiencing hard system locks frequently.
If you were to address this thread ( or the emails or the cards and letters and rented skywriting flyovers) in an open and honest way it would go far with frustrated testers who are still looking for a fix. |
